Welcoming Our New CEO, Dr. Ameshica Linsey
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As a follow-up to our recent announcement regarding Literacy Mid-South’s leadership transition, we are delighted to officially introduce Dr. Ameshica Linsey as our new Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Linsey brings more than 15 years of experience in literacy, education, and nonprofit leadership. She has led children’s and adult literacy organizations, advanced community-wide literacy initiatives, and championed equity, collaboration, and systems change. Her expertise and vision will guide Literacy Mid-South into its next chapter of growth, impact, and advocacy.
We are confident that under Dr. Linsey’s leadership, the organization will continue to build on its strong foundation and further expand access to literacy across the Mid-South.
We also want to thank John Nichols for his dedicated service as Interim CEO over the past year. His leadership and commitment helped strengthen our operations and prepare us for this exciting new chapter.
Dr. Linsey shared her excitement about joining the organization: “Literacy changes everything. It fuels confidence, strengthens families, and opens doors to opportunity. I’m inspired by Literacy Mid-South’s strong community roots and look forward to working alongside partners, educators, and families to create lasting systems of support that help every learner thrive.”
In the coming weeks, Dr. Linsey will be meeting with many of our partners, funders, and community leaders to share her vision and continue building the relationships that make Literacy Mid-South such a vital part of our community.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Dr. Linsey to the LMS family. You can read her full bio here.
With gratitude,
Board of Directors
