Literacy Mid-South CEO Transition Announcement

Dear Friends and Supporters,

The Literacy Mid-South Board of Directors is pleased to announce the conclusion of our comprehensive CEO search process. We are excited to share that Dr. Ameshica Linsey has been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer of Literacy Mid-South.

Dr. Linsey brings more than 15 years of experience in literacy, education, and nonprofit leadership. She has led children’s literacy and adult literacy organizations, advanced community-wide literacy initiatives, and is a recognized champion for equity and collaboration. We are confident that her vision and leadership will guide Literacy Mid-South into its next chapter of growth, impact, and advocacy.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to John Nichols, who has served as Interim CEO over the past year. His steady leadership, hard work, and commitment to our mission ensured stability and progress during this important time. We are grateful for his service and the many ways he helped position the organization for continued success.

Finally, we want to thank our dedicated staff, tutors, and community of supporters for your input and encouragement throughout this transition. Your belief in our mission makes our work possible every day.

This announcement marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Literacy Mid-South. In the days ahead, we will share more about Dr. Linsey’s background, her vision for the future, and opportunities to connect with her directly.

Together, we will continue to build on 50 years of progress toward a stronger, more literate Mid-South.

With gratitude,
Board of Directors
