LMS Convenes Partners to Launch the Shelby County Early Literacy Plan (SCELP)
This past Friday, December 12, the Early Literacy Consortium (ELC) welcomed educators, community partners, funders, and literacy champions to celebrate the release of Version 1.0 of the Shelby County Early Literacy Plan. The gathering marked an important moment in the county’s ongoing efforts to strengthen early literacy, beginning with informal networking and breakfast that encouraged collaboration and relationship-building among those working toward a shared goal.
During the program, ELC leaders reflected on the cross-sector work that shaped the plan and outlined a collective path forward for early literacy in Shelby County. A panel of local literacy leaders shared insights from current initiatives and discussed how the plan will help align, support, and expand effective strategies. The event reinforced a shared commitment to coordinated action and set the stage for continued collaboration to ensure all children in Shelby County have the literacy skills they need to succeed.
Thank you to everyone who attended and all of our amazing partners in this vital work!
