LMS Joins the Conversation on Educational Equity

Earlier this month, our team member Johnny Blunt joined a powerful discussion at the EdTrust-Tennessee Memphis Regional Roundtable—co-hosted with partners in the Tennessee Alliance for Equity in Education. The event brought together leaders from across the region to reflect, strategize, and build a more just and equitable future for Tennessee students

The panel included Mauricio Calvo, Dr. Kandace Thomas, and Dr. Tomeka Hart Wigginton, sharing insights on collaboration, equity, and the role of literacy in lifelong learning.

Held at the National Civil Rights Museum, the event also underscored the deep historical and cultural significance of advancing equity in education. Johnny noted that hearing from organizations like the TN NAACP, BRIDGES USA, and MICAH was a reminder of Memphis’s homegrown leadership and ongoing commitment to justice and opportunity.
