Megan Bula - Megan Bula joined International Paper in 2017 and has held a variety of different positions, including her current position as the Associate General Counsel, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. Prior to moving to Memphis, she was an associate and then partner with the law firm Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP in Toledo, Ohio. She received her JD from the University of Michigan in 1997. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1994, with a concentration on Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
Edith Gnanadass - Edith is an Assistant Professor of Higher and Adult Education at the University of Memphis. She has a Ph.D. in Lifelong Learning and Adult Education with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. She has more than 20 years of experience in adult and higher education working with diverse populations in New York City, Pennsylvania, and Memphis. Her research interests include race and learning, Cultural Historical Activity Theory, DesiCrit, using Black texts in higher education, and inclusive online learning.
John Nichols - After graduating from Rhodes College in 2010, John spent two years teaching high school in Chicago through Teach For America. He returned to Memphis in 2012 and spent the next six years as a high school English teacher, college counselor, and team leader at The Soulsville Charter School. John most recently completed his second year at St. Mary’s Episcopal School where he is the Global Education Director. Although he is a recent volunteer to Literacy Mid-South’s adult tutoring program, he has loved his time working with his learner, Judin. John looks forward to bringing his classroom and education-related experiences to fulfilling Literacy Mid-South’s goals of ensuring literacy for all Memphians.
Shenika D. Thomas - Shenika D. Thomas, MPS, CFE, MBA serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of the business and fiscal affairs in the Office of the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). She has the responsibility of providing leadership for the business and fiscal affairs for the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor’s office and its administrative units. Ms. Thomas earned her Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) with a concentration in Organizational Leadership, Master of Professional Studies (MPS) with a concentration in Human Resource Leadership from the University of Memphis and her Master of Business Administration in spring 2015.
