The Refugee Empowerment Program also operates after school-day hours Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm dependent upon the age group.

Refugee Empowerment Program (REP) addresses the unique needs and concerns of the refugee population of Memphis, TN through innovative empowerment programs and creative community outreach. Many students that participate in REP’s educational programs have been in the United States for fewer than three years. Children arrive in Memphis with no English speaking abilities and very little education or academic skills having lived in refugee camps for a good part of their young lives. REP responds to these challenges by providing an environment where these students can be themselves, learn among their peers, celebrate their cultures, ask questions, and receive support and encouragement.

Throughout the school year, REP provides after-school homework help and tutoring to over 200 refugee students grades PK – 12 attending various schools throughout the City of Memphis.

There is no fee or expected educational levels to attend the program .
