The mission of Literacy Mid-South is to create a community actively engaged in continuous learning. They offer programs in adult education and ESL

Hours: 

Monday (9:00am to 6:00 pm)
Tuesday through Friday (9:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Eligibility:

Must be 18 years or older and reading at the 6th grade level or below.

Intake:

Potential students must take an assessment to indicate placement; intakes are offered on Modays, 10am-5pm at the main library on Poplar on the third floor. Intakes cost $10; the student will receive an envelope at their intake and are expected to mail the amount (check, cash, or money order) to the P.O. Box (111229, 38111-1229). The typical waiting time between intake and matching of student and tutors is 2-6 weeks. Depending on the student's availability and their goals, they will be matched with a one-on-one tutor or in a small group.

Costs:

$10 intake and processing fee (one time fee).
