Position Overview:

Literacy Mid-South seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented Director of Information Management. The Director will access and analyze internal and community-level literacy data to guide the organization in making results-oriented decisions that lead to a 100% literate Memphis. This position will work closely with the Executive Director, Literacy Mid-South staff, and community partners to help design processes, measure progress, establish systems for data management and evaluation, and facilitate the use of data and research. This position will provide leadership to the I.T. Systems Analyst and report to the Executive Director.

 

Job Summary:

  • Lead the organization’s efforts to collect and analyze internal and community-level literacy data

  • With input from colleagues and partner organizations, work to obtain and deploy needed data and research to support a continuous improvement model

  • Alongside the I.T. Systems Analyst, identify and/or design systems to support internal and partner efforts

  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations with the intention of working together to advance our collective efforts towards a 100% literate Memphis

  • Identify and/or maintain databases to support internal and partner efforts

  • Ability to recognize and adopt trends in data visualization, data analysis, information management, and technology

  • Identify and prepare data content, reports, visuals, including charts, graphs, and narratives for a variety of audiences 

  • Work with and provide guidance to the Literacy Mid-South staff to identify new and/or improve data collection and management processes

  • Maintain internal and partner dashboards as well as design new dashboards as needed

  • Perform other duties as requested

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a strong preference for an advanced degree

  • Five years of experience, preferably in research and data analysis, program evaluation, or continuous improvement

  • Passion for literacy and lifelong learning

  • An incisive and collaborative communication style with prodigious receptivity to colleagues and partners

  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Three years of experience working with data visualization software, in data analysis, and/or program development, management, or evaluation

  • Considerable and demonstrable experience with Excel and some familiarity with HTML and Python

  • Excellent ability to think strategically by breaking down complicated problems and including diverse stakeholders in reaching solutions

  • Familiarity with the Memphis community preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal skills required

  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines

  • Available to work evenings and weekends if required

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Schedule

40 hours/week

Salary:

Starting at $60,000+, based on experience
